It was 2 in the morning and I laid down in bed, rested my head on the pillow to lie awake feeling my head throb. Thinking a hot shower would cure the migraine that pelted the sides of my skull, I pulled my heavy tired body up and out of the bed, trying not to shake my husband that lie fast asleep next to me. When I got into the bathroom I was overcome by the filth and clutter that outlined the eighties blue countertop. How ever could I clean myself in such filth I thought, looking around the brightly lit bathroom. So I pulled off the clutter, garbaging what I could. Pulled off the things that don’t belong and put them away, then I gathered the cleaning supplies and cloth. I wiped down the counter and foggy splattered mirror that spanned across the tiny wall. Grabbed a large soft towel from the linen laundry room closet and hung it over the glass shower door handle. I turned on the water, testing the temperature of the water that gushed out from the bath spout. Thinking the temperature was perfect I pulled the lever which switched the water from the spout to the shower head above. Unclothed and greasy from the night’s work at the hotel I climbed my short legs over the tub and showered off the grime, hoping the migraine would go along with it. It did. Migraine gone. All that remained after was insomina. So with eyes opened wide I stared at the computer screen. Reading, and looking at pictures on Facebook, then remembering my Blog friends I clicked on one, about to read, but undoubtedly got side-tracked when I saw their blog design. Thirsty for the hunt of another creative piece. I settled on this one, called: Jessica Fletcher Redux. And now, I think I am ready to rest my head back down on that pillow again, hopefully not waking my husband in the process.
