Dawson AKA Goomba

I’m in the home office right now resting. I just finished exercising for 3 hours, but not alone!

For the next couple days my brother-in-law, who’s 10 years old, will stay with us. He was our foster son for a year a couple years ago, so it has been so exciting having him visiting. He is full of energy, stories, and games. He’s very creative and VERY smart!

Tonight he ran on the treadmill, and said, "Give me a challenge!" So I said, "ok. I’d like to see if you can run at speed 2.5 on an incline of 10 for 5 minutes!" He said, "ok."

He did very good! He actually ran for 10 minutes instead of 5. haha Next I said, "if you can do 20 push-ups, I’ll give you a prize!" He did 5, stopped and said, "I CAN’T DO THIS!" I said, "you can take a break if you need to and then do another 5 at a time!" He said, "what will I get?" I said, "it’s a surprise, that’s why it’s a prize, but I KNOW you’ll like it!" He said, "ok." So he did another 3 sets of 5 reps, and I gave him his prize.

5 strawberry marshmallow candies.

He loves those things! I remember when Jeff and I met him and their Dad for Father’s Day, Dawson had a whole bag. He was eating them like they were grapes or something. One right after the other, or rather he would eat one, then jump on his Dad’s side, slide down his Dad’s leg, hop off then pop another in his mouth! And since it was late in the evening, and I didn’t want him climbing on me, I only allowed him 5 and thought THAT too much! But I made sure he worked off all that sugar.

After the treadmill, and push-ups, we did some tubing, and exercise ball then wii fit. Finally after each of us did about 30 minutes on the wii fit we played "Super Mario Smash Bros" on the Wii, of which he won all games but one.

His favourite activity on the wii fit game was the distance run, surprisingly. And then when it was on my turn he wanted to see me do the "Island Lap" run. I felt so bored that at times I sprinted so fast I passed my guide and it caused my mii character to trip and fall. It was so funny! That I sprinted the whole time to the finish line and we laughed every time the mii tripped and fell. It was so funny to watch. The end results was that my burn rate, apparently, was 35%.

Dawson has been having fun sharing our guest room with our three cats too as he stays here with us.

We have given them, the cats, the guest room since our toilet’s tank miraculously cracked and spewed rusty water all over our silverish grey carpet, and since we still have stuff out of order and all over the place the house is not cat-proof, yet, and therefore the guest room is the perfect place for them right now.

We are still finding a home for "Rufio" too. We thought we would keep her, but we just can’t!

That reminds me I should go see how the cats our doing. Check their water and food level as well as clean their litter so that it smells ok in the room Dawson will sleep in tonight. I put "feliaway" (I guess this stuff is quite new, because this is the only place I could find info on it.) in there too, so it helps the cats not to fight.

And yes Rhiannon you were right about that flying beetle. Thanks!
And Tara thank-you so much for the compliment! I LOVE my new haircut too!!!

P.S. in case you’re wondering why you have seen me in that "Saucony" shirt for so many pictures. It’s my favourite shirt! I would wear it every day if I could! It’s so light, feels like I’m not wearing anything, it keeps me dry, and warm at the same time, even when I’m sweating. It’s made out of "coolmax" and it was free from a box of cereal!!! So I got 3 of them, all the same!
