Deep Down

3rd March, 2008

Well this is the culprite behind my Doctor’s visits and my breathing problems my Doctor told me at my last appointment.
Jeff cleaned it as best he could a couple days ago, but it is still stuck in the corners and tiny places of the wall. Holding on for dear life, so we may need to call in the professionals to remove all of it. Because if you can see even a little, the mold can reproduce and quickly.
I also got an appointment for environmental allergy testing, to see if I’m allergic to anything else.

It’s healthy!

This is something that I thought and wrote up a couple days ago…

When you have a food addiction or just tend to lack self-control when around cupcakes, spinich dip and sourdough bread, it’s hard not to join others who are "letting" the food control their minds.

Can you believe it? That’s what’s happening inessence right? If you are anything like me and you’ve been there or are there now you’ll relate quite easily with what I’m about to say. All logic goes out the door and the eye eats. It sees something good and it "knows" (aw there’s the little bit of logic that still exists) it knows that what those eyes behold is a mini shiver. A good feeling but that feeling is short lived, isn’t it?

Have you ever been on a diet before? Lost weight? After losing the weight, noticed the stench fast food restaurant fries give off? That all you smell is grease? But if you live with someone who has a weight problem and they continue to eat fast food around you, after you’ve lost weight you feel like throwing up or even worse feel like you need to join them just so the stench goes away?

That reminds me of cigerrette smokers. I’m not a smoker but I’ve heard from others that while they’re smoking they dont realize that they stink, but after they stop the habit, they smell it. But soon after they quit, some people just can’t cope can they? Why do you think they start up again?

In the Bible, in the book of James (chapter one), it says, "2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." Perseverance must finish its work! Why? So that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything." Does that include your health?

But what does God say next? He says that if you lack wisdom (from your mind/logic) he should ask God. So this to means that if your health/weight/self-control/whatever it is that you lack wisdom/logic in then you should pray about this, ask God and believe (use that same motivation, and excitement you have when you believe that chocolate/cupcake/spinich dip, whatever it might be temtping you tastes so good. I think God wants us to think of him like that. Have you ever thought that maybe God is jealous of the way we crave food/our temptations? He wants us! All of us! he wants us to crave him in a sense right?

I don’t want to lose my mind over anything else and think with my eyes. I want to let God control my logic so I can be self-controlled around temptations. Eye candy, stinky food, habits, and what God has to say about this is simple "consider it pure joy (think positvely), perseverance must finish it’s work (walk away and pray/close your eyes) so that you will be content (and healthy)."

How have you broken a habit? How do you plan on breaking it:? or them? Do you have any tips on habit breaking?

" Perseverance must finish its work! Why? So that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything."

The work of cleaning the mold out must be finished so that our health is not at risk.

Habits are like mold aren’t they? They are just hard to get rid of, and sometimes they grow so deep down into our souls that only the professionals can clean them out. Who’s your professional?

This is very good. You are totally right… I like your analogy with the mold and I like your face up to it truth that we should allow God to help us walk through maturity in our eatings habits and any other habits that we know do not please him….thanks…this was very insightful.
