Brainstorm With Me
15th February, 2008Well today (Feb 14-Valentine’s Day-Just like any other day to me) I was so exhausted that I HAD to leave work early and sleep in my car for 2 and a half hours before I drove home to return to bed after eating something. And I have decided that I will make it official and tell my manager (Feb 15) that I will not be returning. I will drive there to tell her in person, because they did hire me in person, right? It is just too far for me to drive. My next job will either be a vanpool away or in my hometown. It has to be and I know that now! I’ve been applying the last couple of days. After applying to 4 on the first day I got a reply back! So I’m excited about THAT interview. Please pray for me though if you think of me! Pray that I would be SO excited to go to work. That God would PUT me in a job that I can grow Spiritually, and creatively. I feel like I’m so close to THAT job too! You know like I can’t put my finger on what it is I should be doing, but it’s within my grasp. That job that lights my fire. That’s the job I want, the one that you work at and leave from not feeling like you even went to work, you know? Like you just went out with friends or you just travelled to another country to help them out there. At least that’s how I felt when I was a missionary in Korea. I felt like I wasn’t even working! I mean it was very hard work, physically and mentally, but it enriched my life seeing the kids. I especially enjoyed teaching the teenagers there, and leading the little kids in worship dance. I LOVED being around all those kids! And I LOVED the respect they had, the gratefulness that I was there teaching them a language that is so universal! Even though it was a Mission’s Trip, and volunteer, I felt that was my MOST FAVOURITE job ever! I LOVED leaving everything just to fall into another "world" just to adapt and see the diversity in it. I LOVE cultures and DIFFERENT things! Unique things! That’s why I think it would be fun to work in a museum. To restore artifacts. Or do research on them. But I also love trying "different" culturally based things too! And going on adventures, trips, LOVE it! (Although, now that I’m married, I would rather stick close to home most of the time; however, it would be fun to travel with a team still.)
Let’s see, brainstorm with me, what type of jobs would offer me these sorts of things? These are the things I LOVE: Adventure, Change, Variety, Diversity, Creativity, Colors, Exploration, Nature, Exercise???
-Tour Guide
-Missionary
-Museum Worker
-Library Worker
-Office Assistant at a Culturally based place
What other places are there? Any ideas?
It’s fun to dream isn’t it?
Now just to make that dream come true, that’s the hard part…
That is really hard – to dread going to work!
I don’t know what you should do except wait for God to open the right doors and then walk through.
I will pray with you that God guides you straight into the job that He has waiting for you !
You will surely know it when you find it !
Okay so I just got the answer to my question for you on facebook. I should check your blog before checking facebook…when will I learn? I am glad you are free from that job and I am glad you are dreaming. It is fun to dream.
How about an exercise coach. You would be perfect for that. I hope you find what you are looking for.
