Earn Money Via Social Networking?!

I had not heard about this form of currency until today. If you have read the science fiction novel, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, written by Cory Doctorow, then you might have heard of the post scarcity economy already.

Similar to the networking that is required to get you a job, in most cases now a days, when your mom knows a relative who knows someone who is hiring, and you put the relative down as a reference, hoping that THAT reputation they have with the hire-ee is a good one?! In an attempt to secure yourself a job, in order to earn a living? Well the same is said about this form of networking. Your online reputation is everything!

Even though digitally based, the electronic satellite fed information highways may be a more abundant means to providing us with security, whether now or in the future. Ironic to say the least, that as our generations evolve into a people that is highly technical, we may have many jobs available at the online social networking locations, such as: Twitter, and Facebook.

This form of socializing however may weigh heavily on our minds and bodies causing even the fittest to become home bound or better yet, juggling life with one hand, practically handicapping themselves by use of a handheld device, which inevitably would debilitate the use of one hand.

While the thought of a universal “hypothetical” currency that resonates as cash and or credit may soon make its appearance we should be prepared for both the pros and cons of it all, by making boundaries for ourselves. How far will we go? A digitally enhanced job, even though abundant, calls for a very thin line between reality and technology. One might be careful not to get sucked into the epiphany of a deep dark hole, also known as the web.

I’m curious though, will people trust this personable way of living? Will we continue to grow as individuals in society? or Will people feel that their online selves reputation is like science fiction, a fantasy, and not even conform to this new guild?
