My Grandma
7th December, 2006
Since a couple people were asking about her i thought I should make a post of her and I. I WAS close to her, but since I’ve been married not as much as I would like I guess because we are just so allergic to the cigarette smoke that we find it hard to visit with her.
All throughout my childhood years though she was the one person I felt I could relate to in a lot of ways when it came to my artwork and funniness. She’s an Artisit, so I got all my art lessons from her. She graduated from UCFV a couple years ago now, but ya she was that person who babysat me who was always so much fun! She would tell me the Jack and the Bean Stock story every night before she put me to sleep. We would draw together all the time. She made Ginger Bread houses, and boy were those ever delicious. She always had Fruit Loops to nibble on too when I was a kid. She carried what is it now, Wrigleys Sperimint gum-you know the long strips. She always watched Star Trek -The Next Generation one of course, and she also enjoyed Full House. For the last couple years she has been doing rockart and puzzleling. When I was getting blood work done a couple years ago now I saw a whole crap load of her rocks in the kids room there, it was so comforting to see part of my family right there beside me as I was getting blood taken…and yes all the adult rooms were full so they took my blood in the kid’s room. And I’m glad they did so that I could see my Grandma’s rocks. This picture is a rock that I made, it’s very simple, but it reminds me of her and I. Her idea is the rock and my idea is using it as something useful such as a hammer. So whenever I see a rock, the gum, fruit loops, Star Trek the Next Generation, hear the Jack and the Bean Stock story, or see a puzzle I am reminded of the wonderful lady that bore my mother. You can see pictures of her on my "Memories" page which is located on my sidebar.
And now she is being tested for cancer (60 years of smoking tobacco later). Please join me in prayer for her, as she goes through all the testing. Thank-you!
Thank you for the update. Those are some good memories. I am praying.
