the last couple of days

3rd May, 2009

My little cousin Ashley was over for a couple days to learn what geocaching was all about. Here we are pictured above in 1989! I was 9 years old and she was 2…

Here we are today, 20years later!!! Crazy how time changes us…

This is just one of the few caches we found…on the first day she was out, Wednesday, and we were amazed that she FTFed on a cache we did with a group of 7! Her prize was a $5 gift cert for Tim Hortons…

Here we are at today’s first event, it was called: The Flash Mob and basically everyone met at the designated spot and time to make as much noise as possible. Just so that passer-byers would think "what is THAT?"

Then we were off to our second event of the day. The CITO (Cache in Trash Out) where we walk around a park looking for the cache while picking up garbage! Surprisingly I liked the garbage decoy while caching. I’m SURE noone suspected a thing!!! (oh and we could wear these hats that were donated by Lafarge. I did but the hat was too big for my head so everytime I bent over to search it fell over my eyes! That was annoying. It’s a good thing Jeff found a cache instantly, because then we won the prize for that and were on our way picking up trash a bit. Met up with others and then made our way back to the meeting area to discuss lunch. All 16 of us then headed over to Swiss Chalet for lunch!

Tonight a new NIGHT CACHE was released. A cache that is made so you can ONLY do it at night with the aide of flashlights. This was our third one and again like the others it was pitch black, the trail sloped and rocks, roots, and trees lined the path, that was puddled by the evenings heavy rainfall. Along this path though were these salamanders, when we noticed that they were there we must have seen at least 3 in a matter of 5 meters!! They were cute. And right away I thought of the story my Mom use to tell me. That when she was a kid she bit the head off of one she thought was rubber to prove to her cousins that it was fake. Sure enough it was ALIVE and she spit it out!!

Now this is me in 2007…I’m debating whether or not I should grow my hair out again. If I were to, I’d still keep my bangs short I think, because well as you know I CAN NOT STAND hair in my eyes or on my face…So maybe I’ll just grow it out a bit. We’ll see! I’m glad my hair grows fast, but I’m not glad that it’s still falling out.

Cute picture of you and your cousin. I like the salamander too. I think you look good in long or short hair!

I don’t think I ever saw your hair long – it looks good in that photo long.
