Blogspot vs. WordPress

16th August, 2006
Ok, well I must say WordPress has way more options than Blogspot, which makes it waaaaay more confusing I must say. They both have their pros and cons. With Blogspot you can actually get into the html and change your background image. With WordPress you can not unless you have a “real” website you can use along with it. That too has it’s pros and cons.Since I just came from Blogspot, I would say I have a bias. I am more comfortable using it! But I would like to get use to WordPress, considering I’ve heard so many good reports about it. And the reports were from many web developers. So considering my sources I would say WordPress is by far better than Blogspot. Personally, I would say WordPress is a step up from Blogspot. If you get bored with Blogspot, come over to WordPress and try it out. Warning! It will feel strange at first. Especially, if you try opening an account that is attached to your “real” website. I messed that up big time, so I won’t tell you that url just yet. I know now why WP does not allow their “free” users access to their html area. They have just made it too organized. What got me thinking about moving on? Blogspot (BS) in Beta. Just recently BS has implemented the use of a new BS system. It’s a little different and waaaay easier than the current BS, so basically it’s practiculiarly two steps down from WP, where as the original BS (where I came from) is only about one step almost one and a half down from WP. So bottom line, if you’re thinking about switching. Try it first!!! You may be surprised, as I know I was.
