Our 3hr Hike
12th February, 2009
One of yesterday’s caches took us on a 3 hour hike where there were horses on the trail along with the presents they left for us as we walked up the sharp inclines. I thought Jeff might have had turrets from all the words coming out of his mouth! :)

The sun shone our shadows intertwined in fresh strength of serenity. They stood tall in love against the cold night air.

We raced against time not wanting to get stuck in this forrest, a place we’d never been to before again, in the dark.

We walked this trail fast, keeping an eye on the speedily dipping sun that shoved it’s rays into its pockets fast!

We passed this beautiful shot and I just had to snap it , for you to see too! As you can see it was getting dark and getting dark quickly.

The first trail, done just before the 3hour hike, we did had two caches on it. This trail was actually an old part of a road that was just blocked off and overgrown. The lane lines are still visible there and so it felt odd to walk hand in hand along the middle of this road. On the side of this "road" we saw an interesting "sign" that was nailed to a tree, so we went in for a closer look and saw that a dog owner paid tribute to his faithful friend who died of cancer, his dog "Virgil".
Ok an odd thought just came to mind. and it’s totally off topic here. But do you think pet peeves are a form of OCD? I think they might be. The reason those things, pet peeves, annoy you is most likely due to the fact that the-annoyance is out of order, disturbing you obsessively, making it so you can’t relax until it is changed, fixed or different.Do you agree? or disagree and why??
Have you been outside for a walk? I’m loving this gorgeous weather we’ve been having. Today, it was 7 degrees Celsius, with the sun shining a bit again. It sure is nice when the sun can shine on an otherwise colder day, isn’t it? I wonder if we’ll still be able to get out there as much in the coming days as we hear there’s snow in the forecast. I sure hope we can get out there! Hiking is a great workout!!
Do you hike? If so, what is your most prized possession for a hike? The number one thing that you absolutely can’t hike without???
What are mine? My "Columbia" hiking shoes! And Jeff, with a GPS in one hand and my hand in his other!!!
Those photos are lovely, the sun seems so warm. You guys sure are seeing a lot of beautiful scenery on your geo-caching (is that how you say it) adventures.
Beautiful photos, Demara!
The thing I apsolutely can’t go without on a hike? Definitely my camera !!
You guys have really been getting in some walking while doing the geocaching. Those are beautiful pictures. I especially like the shadow one. We had a few really nice days too and I was out walking!
So glad you took your camera with you so you could share that scenery with us… just beautiful!
