donatelliIf you’ve been following along you will have known that my husband’s Gramma has been very sick and just a couple days ago went to the hospital, where just yesterday the Doctor said she had 0% chance of living.

She was sick and brought to the hospital via ambulance at the beginning of this week, and moved from Emergency to upstairs within a few hours.

The next day, after she took a turn for the worst, they moved her again, this time to the top floor, where she would have her own room and spa-type care at a price of about $30/day.

Thursday morning when she took that turn for worst, she had apparently suffered a heart attack or stroke (Doctors weren’t sure exactly) which caused her to be unresponsive all day, opening her eyes every 5 hours for a couple seconds.

I tweeted a picture of her and let people know to pray for her and the family, that same day while at the hospital.

Today, Friday, we visited her again, she was TALKING and aware of all her visitors!! She doesn’t remember Thursday at all.

In the collage:

  • in the center, you see her holding her friends hand.
  • top left corner, Grandpa’s hands at the end of her bed, on one of her prize winning quilts.
  • and bits and pieces of her surroundings there in palliative care

I told her today (above) that she needs to get strong, walk and show the doctors that she is well enough to go home, because she kept saying she wanted to go!!! To go hom and be with Mike, her husband. When we had to leave today she was getting anxious to get out of there…trying to get “comfortable”. She just wants to go home!

0percent-1This (above) is her in the “coma” yesterday, when the Doctor said she had 0% chance of living and (below) this was her 9 months ago when she was still well and walking, talking. Which apparently were drugs that sent her down hill and fast. Experimental drugs! For the last two months, she’s been struggling with the effects they’ve had on her body.

donatelli2Please pray for her recovery, strength, mobility and ABILITY to go home, so she can rest comfortably. In order, FOR her to return home, her and her husband will need 24/hr support. Please pray they get the support they need.

THX!!

Wow – that’s an incredible turn around. She’s a fighter, I can see. I’ll be praying for her.

No wonder you understand. Sending love to you too Demara and Jeff. Could it be that she will surprise the doctors? That would be so nice – if she could be healthy and stay a while longer. At any rate may God be with you all each day.

I totally missed this, Demara. I’ve not really been on the computer since late Thursday night. I’m so glad that she’s taken a turn for the better. That one picture is really scary showing how bad she was, but how amazing that she got better so quickly when the doctor gave her no chance. God bless.
