Interesting Findings

Nacho

Salsa

When I was making a basmati rice stir-fry dish the other day I found a nut. And not your average edible nut either, but a tool nut. You know the kind that goes with a bolt. You won’t believe where I found this! It was scooped up in my measuring cup, yes with the rice. I know I know I was in shock too!!! Believe you me. I was almost afraid to eat the cooked rice afterward too, but I made it so tasty that I forgot about the metal seasoning. *smile* After I had eaten I started imagining where the nut could have come from and that’s when I came to the conclusion that it fell off the machine the rice is processed in. It was made in India and on the bag it says it’s cholesterol free, but what they forgot to add was "nut free". haha

This odd finding was not as bad as when I found human SKIN in a glass of freshly poured Cranberry cocktail. And it wasn’t a small chunk either! Let me tell ya’, that turned me off of that juice for a long time afterward.

Another interesting finding was this new gum I snatched off the shelf at Wal-Mart the other day. Two different kinds by the same brand. A new brand "Ice Breakers". So new that when I went to buy more at Safeway today -where we get air miles- they didn’t have any at all, yet. I must say the "Ice Cubes" are way better than the sour gum! And you know? The Ice Cubes have 0 calories where as the sour ones have 5 per piece.

I found it interesting that my husband’s lost 10 pounds since we got the wii fit about a month ago and I think it’s very noticeable especially when he plays ice hockey. I snapped a photo of him scoring the other day. I thought the ears he made for himself -to keep the sweat out of his face- were quite funny looking, so I had to get a picture of that!!! I kept laughing aloud in the fan booth. I’m sure the other ladies watching must have thought I had a laughing disorder or something.

I found one of my Grandma’s rocks when I was cleaning out the storage room a couple weeks ago-or was that last week now?. And just out of curiosity I took it down from the shelf I had it on, to the floor. And guess who loved it? Nacho couldn’t stop playing with it. I thought he was so cute and funny I had to snap some photos of THAT for you! This particular rock was one of my Grandma’s "Road Kill" ones. I thought it looked like a mouse, and it did have lots of red on it-apparently red and green are the only colors cats can see, so Nacho had a great time.

The cats-Nacho and Salsa-have seemed to be so much more relaxed now that Rufio is living with the neighbor. I’m sure they talk to each other through the wall too. I’ll see Salsa sitting on the steps with her ear against the wall sometimes and then she starts meowing really loud. I should get a picture of that for you too sometime hey? haha. I think Salsa is so beautiful and she is so very smart.

Nacho and Salsa love to lay on the steps. In the one photo above I’m pretty certain that Salsa was flirting with Nacho and Nacho-since getting fixed-was just playing with her. I’m sure this ticks her off so much-but not for long. We’re getting her fixed soon too! teeheehee

Have YOU ever found a nut in your rice or something strange in anything before?
