Recipes And 8Hrs

Well last night, was a way better night. I don’t know if it was the fact that I only had 3 hours of sleep the night before, but I was able to sleep the whole night. When I hit the hay or bunk rather it was SO incredibly quiet. The window was still wide open and the College’s gate still locked up and the traffic well there wasn’t any! This was a special moment, so I crawled under the covers as quick as I could without even pulling my hoodie/jacket off I was going to sleep while I had the moment of quiet and that I did. I slept a whole 8 hours!

Today, I made a red kidney bean and basmati dish with yellow and green peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, bay leaves, salt, and well it was ok. Tasted really healthy compared to all the junk I’ve been eating lately. Not too much junk, just more or less snack type food. Quick snacks! so practically junk. But it’s fast right? and when your blood sugar’s low it definitely helps, but I noticed that it sure uses up a lot of calories all at once. This is not so good. Before my lunch time I had had almost 1200 calories already, this is the total amount I’m to have when I plan to not exercise. I didn’t exercise yesterday.

So back to today, along with the rice bean dish I made a shake with 1 scoop of  "hemp and greens" smoothie mix (62cal), 1 scoop orange flavoured metamucil (45cal), 1/2 a banana (54cal), 80cal of frozen blueberries and 1C omega So Good (130cal). This shake tastes really good and is chalked full of fibre.

I also thought I’d share the receipe for a really good dip I use for my Costco veggie chips. I like to use a half eaten container sometimes I’ll use a whole container depending on how much dip I want pre-made. I like it fresh. of "Sour Supreme" aka Tofuttie Sour Cream for those who can’t tolerate dairy (70cal per 3tbsp). I pour in about 1 tbsp of Sweet Chilli Sauce for a little kick sometimes I’ll use regular mustard (0 cal) instead, it depends on what color I want the dip. 1 heaping tbsp (15cal per 1 tbsp)  of "Antipasto" for healthy chunks in the dip, you can use Salsa for this too. and my dip MUST have some "Spike" so I sprinkle some of that in there and then mix it all up. There you have it a real quick and easy dip.

I’m going to get back to slowly sipping my high fibre shake now and check in on your blogs, I don’t rss on any of them anymore, so I visit you when ever I can and if you have new posts then I read, but I’ve been caught with being a couple posts behind so this may change. I actually like having to search and open each link. I don’t like seeing the updated blog before I visit it because that way I don’t feel the need to comment. I can read the post just from the feed what fun is that? I can’t even see your beautiful blog colors through the rss, either, so I choose, click, visit and let you know!!!

As you may have noticed some of your blogs have not made it to my sidebar. I use my sidebar to visit and comment on blogs, but if you have in fact updated your blog?, comment and I’ll be sure to visit, otherwise I have no idea of knowing, especially if you do not see yourself on my sidebar. I could rss to those blogs that are not updated daily, I may do that, but for now please comment if you update your blog and would like me to visit you, thanks!

    Hi Demara

    I have been thinking of you and wondering how the surgery went, but I see it delayed. Sorry about that … it’s hard to psych up for something like that and then have to deal with it being put off. Hang in there chickie … you are in my thoughts and prayers …
