At The Hospital

Do you know what that is in the picture here???
It’s what you get when you visit the hospital in Canada.
A bracelet with your name on it and other vital info.
That’s right folks, I got one of those fancy branclets last night around 6:30.
After that we spent about 2 hours waiting for a bed, then after getting a bed we waited another 30 mins or so. Then I was seen by another bracelet nurse, because the other original bracelet nurse had gone home for the day already. So this nurse was just verifying what the other nurse had done. After about another hour, the Doctor came in heard my symptoms, listened to my lungs, and then left. A couple mins later a different nurse came in with a needle gun, she said really fast and to the point, "I’m going to give you a shot in the bum!" I didn’t really comprehend it until Jeff laughed, then she persisted to show me where abouts she needed to put it, so yes I got a shot in the buttocks! haha Then a couple mins later, the blood nurse came in to take large viles from both arms. I found out I have scar tissue on one arm so that’s why it always hurts to get needles in that arm. After another hour the bracelet nurse came in with 3 T3’s (I think that’s what they were.) And not too long after that I could feel the pain killers working their way up from my feet. For the rest of the time there we spent waiting for the blood test results. We waited a total of 6 hours. (We had not had supper yet.) Why’d I need to go there in the first place? Well we had called our doctor before hand and told him my symptoms and he thought I might have strep. Wednesday I started finding it hard to breathe. Thursday I had a headache and at night it was too painful to swallow, it was a struggle to sleep that night. And Friday well I had a painful stabbing migraine all day. So after sleeping a bit in my car at work, I drove back to my hometown in need of a walk-in clinic. None were open. (When I drove into the first one’s parking lot my car stopped too, that was a bit scary, feeling REAL sick and your car stopping on you is a very BAD combo. At first I didn’t know what was happening, I just had no control, so the first thing I did was pull my emergency brake. then prayed Lord MAKE this car start PLEASE, this is all I need! And guess what it started!!! God is good.) So I went straight home to bed pulled the covers over my head and screamed out in pain. I felt stuck, like I couldn’t do anything. So I called our doctor’s pager and left a message. (Jeff was still at work.) Our doctor always calls Jeff back (because their friends/buisness buddies) and well as soon as jeff came home he asked me what’s wrong. I told him, my head hurt real bad (I seriously wanted to cut it off from the base of the neck) and my legs are aching (I too wanted to cut my legs off just above the knees.). So Jeff called our doctor back told him my symptoms and how I couldn’t swallow last night and he asked if I had a fever, I had, so he said I should be seen right away. I told Jeff that Broncitis and Nemonia were going around at work too. Anyhow, so I went and discovered that all I have is a same old same old viral infection and that I was dehydrated. So I was told to drink lots of fluids, especially Ginger Ale. So today I am drinking. I have also felt a migraine coming on (I do get them quite often, so I can tell now when one is starting. I just never had it last so long before.). I’ve taken two migraine Advil hoping that will take it away, it hasn’t kicked in yet. Am waiting. Oh and after we left the hospital we went out for pizza (I had veggie so it wasn’t as bad and I had to get all my calories in for the day right? And I had ginger ale to drink.). I was so excited this morning, when I saw three numbers I haven’t seen on the scale for a very long time, 172 lbs!!!

I’m sorry you are not feeling so feel. I pray you recover soon. Get plenty of rest and relax.
Congratulations on your continued weight loss.
Wow.. that’s a bit scary !! I’m glad you aren’t more seriously ill.. even though I’m sure you feel bad enough !!
It seems a bit drastic just to loose a couple of pounds, don’t you think? smile
I’m praying you get well quickly, Demara !!
Hey there, oh my I read your last 3 entries. So sorry to hear you’ve been battling these health problems and going to Hospital and all that entailed. I pray for a good and swift resolution for you! From one who has a lot of migraines (mid month and just before my period) and am currently on anything from a 19 day to a 28 day cycle, I know about those ups and downs of emotions, and various discomforts.
You are such a battler Demara, but you know what, as I read your posts I felt to encourage you with what I was hearing - Father, loves you, just loves you, you don’t have to be anything, achieve anything, whatever - he loves you totally.
