Shattered Glass
Today, Jeff brought home a 55 inch tv, that we looked at yesterday. It’s projection, used, a Toshiba, and was only 5 hundred dollars. That’s fun! But before we can make it look nice in our home we have to make room right?
So that’s what i spent most of my time doing today. Emptying shelves, packing boxes, moving everything around so that there was a nice clean path for him and his friend to move the sucker up the stairs and into our house.
WELL…when they got back from Vancouver with the tv, Jeff came up to tell me (w/o the tv) our car was broken into, the driver side window all smashed in and our CD’s were stolen, that’s it though, not our volleyballs or tennis rackets, just the CD’s that were not as much money as our sports equipment. BUT the window has to be replaced.
So I spent the next hour after THAT news, locking all three cats with one large covered litter box, the tap running, and something for them to play with in the company bathroom, helping carry a two hundred and fifty pound tv up a flight of stairs, and then I summoned the good two pair of hands of Goomba to help me clean out the car.
I broke out the rest of the window’s glass, pieces just missing my thin cornea (while Goomba emptied half dranken bottles of liquids down the driveway and onto the road), swept up all the glass (I had flashbacks of cleaning up the smashed padio door’s glass in my mom’s master bedroom. My brother chucked a large rock into it when he went after her with the knife to stab her. Cleaning up glass was a regular occurance there though, it seemed.), shook out seat covers, swept up the car’s floor, shook out car rugs, and reorganized the car.
So now we have an open empty car, well except for the car supplies, like oil and fluids. And Goomba and I carried in ALL the stuff that was piled up in the car. Sometimes I wonder if it’s almost better to have LOTS of garbage and a VERY dirty car, OR a VERY clean car WITH valuables in it??? Because you know? We did have other valuables in our car, and maybe the reason they were not stolen was because they were covered up by so much garbage…haha…I seem to clean out the car once a month too, and I ALWAYS end up pulling at least 1 garbage bag FULL of stuff into the house. Today, it was 2 garbage bags. 1 FULL of empty bottles=money, and 1 FULL of sporting goods, shoes, and other odds and ends.
Anyhow, Jeff is out helping the friend that helped us, right now.
The downstairs is a disaster.
And I’m hiding in our bedroom where it is a bit more organized.
Tonight, we have volleyball, and Jeff is trying to get his Dad to find and put in a new window for us before we go tonight.
So that our stereo doesn’t get stolen next.
It was a 5 dollar stereo, and in order to install it we had to remove the whole dashboard, so I doubt anyone would want to even attempt to steal that!
But you just never know right?
To all of you that commented yesterday,
Thanks for your help!
